The 49ers have flooded their roster with rookies. Not only did they augment the team with an eight-member draft class, but they also signed 19 rookie free agents, and that number might increase. The team released a few veterans like running backs DuJuan Harris and Mike Davis to make room for more rookie free agents.
Kyle Shanahan believes players who try out can make the team. That was his experience with speedy receiver Taylor Gabriel when Shanahan was in Atlanta, that’s why Shanahan invited 54 players to the rookie minicamp last week. There were so many players, some of them had to dress in the visitors’ locker room at Levi’s.
