Remember the 49ers’ showdown with the Seahawks on Monday night, when Jimmy Garoppolo nearly threw a number of interceptions and generally played poorly in an overtime loss? There might have been a reason why it went down like that.
Jim Trotter, a reporter for the NFL Network, published a series of quotes from Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner that shed some light on Garoppolo’s performance on Monday night, in which he averaged just 5.4 yards per passing attempt.
“Interesting insight from the Seattle locker room after OT defeat of the 49ers: If it looked like the D had a good read on Jimmy G late, LB Bobby Wagner told me it was in part because he and KJ Wright began picking up on Jimmy’s checks,” Trotter wrote in a Twitter post Tuesday morning.
