The NFL Draft starts on Thursday — the first draft of the Jim Tomsula era.
In case you’ve forgotten, the 49ers took defensive back Jimmie Ward with their first pick last year and running back Carlos Hyde in the second round.
It’s far too early to call anyone from the 2014 class a bust or future Hall of Famer, but there are certainly plenty of each in 49ers history. The Niners drafted greats like Joe Montana and Charles Haley, but they also drafted duds like Kentwan Balmer and Jim Druckenmiller.
The next round in 49ers history starts at 5 PM (but will probably take an interminable amount of time to actually get going).
