If you’re a San Francisco 49ers fan, there’s a very strong likelihood that your offseason will be even more uneventful than “Tár.” You have no draft picks in the top two rounds. Your marquee free agent is a quarterback (Jimmy Garoppolo) that you’ve wanted gone for a couple of years now anyway. The rest of the free agent pool is fairly uninspiring and not worth the cap maneuvering required. And your new defensive coordinator, Steve Wilks, is as flashy as a cast-iron pan but just as up to the task. Offseason champions never win anything, which means that you’re in for a relatively boring spring of contract restructures that’ll pay considerable dividends once the games kick off again in September.
