Ahead of maybe the biggest game of the season (they’ll all be the biggest from here on out), the middling San Francisco 49ers look like they will end up being comically shorthanded against the Green Bay Packers.
Three injured 49ers stars were not seen practicing by reporters in Santa Clara on Friday: quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder), left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) and defensive end Nick Bosa (hip and oblique injuries).
The biggest concern would no doubt be Purdy, who apparently hurt his shoulder in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks. The QB was a limited participant in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, when reporters saw Purdy look uncomfortable throwing a few passes at the start of the session, then exit the practice field entirely toward the weight room.
