The potential trade destinations for San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk are now down to zero.
Less than two weeks after a report came out that the Niners let Aiyuk speak with four teams — the Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers — to negotiate a contract extension, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported Monday that a deal with the Steelers, the last team standing of that quadrumvirate, fell through because Pittsburgh was unwilling to give up a player for the breakout receiver.
Aiyuk’s suitors fell quickly.
