On Sunday night, 49ers inside linebacker Desmond Bishop showed strong signs he might be getting his injury marred career back on track.
Bishop, 31, had four tackles, a sack and two quarterback hits in a 23-6 preseason win over the Cowboys, flashing the form that allowed him to start 25 games with the Packers from 2010-11.
Today, however, 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula said the eight-year veteran sustained a hand injury in the game that will require surgery. Sound familiar? It does to Bishop, who has played in just six games since 2011 because of a torn ACL (2012) and torn hamstring (2013).
