It’s impossible to know the impetus for Colin Kaepernick’s latest donation without asking the former 49ers quarterback. Also, it’s likely Kaepernick had his $50,000 donation to Meals On Wheels ready before President Donald Trump took a semi-swing at the free agent QB on Monday.
But it’s easy to connect the dots from Trump’s shade to Kaepernick’s aid for a program whose funding has partly come under threat by Trump’s proposed budget cuts.
“Thank you @Kaepernick7 for supporting seniors through your words and actions,” Meals on Wheels — which provides meals for the poor, elderly and veterans — wrote on Twitter.
