Despite a push by Richard Sherman to wear throwback uniforms in Super Bowl LIV, the 49ers will go with their traditional look when they take on the Chiefs in Miami on Feb. 2.
As the designated visiting team, the 49ers will wear their usual road garb consisting of white jerseys and gold pants, the team said Monday morning. NBC Sports Bay Area first reported the team’s uniform plans.
Sherman told The Athletic following the 49ers’ 37-20 rout of the Packers in the NFC Championship Sunday he and some teammates were pushing to convince the NFL to allow them to wear their all-white 1994 throwback uniforms in the Super Bowl.
