Steve Young has talked about all three quarterbacks who have started for the San Francisco 49ers this season, but he saved his highest praise for rookie Brock Purdy.
Speaking with KNBR on Wednesday, Young first complimented Purdy with a “Star Wars” reference before comparing the rookie’s on-field demeanor to that of a young Patrick Mahomes.
“The kid has the Force, and I think people understand what that means,” Young said. “The thing that we’re describing is indescribable in some ways. That’s the only word you can use, the Force. It’s something about he is present on the field, and can handle all the inputs and all the data, and still put out his accuracy.
