Steve Aoki took a trip with Colin Kaepernick and took a knee alongside the controversial quarterback.
Aoki, a Grammy-nominated musician and popular DJ, teamed up with Kaepernick in honoring the work of Japanese-Americans and the civil rights activists who helped them win reparations from the U.S. government.
The two went to a mural celebrating Japanese-Americans and posted pictures on social media.
“We #takeaknee to STAND UP against racism,” Aoki wrote with two fist emojis in one caption.
Kaepernick referenced Yuri Kochiyama, a pioneering civil rights activist who died at 93 in Berkeley after playing a key role in winning reparations for interned Japanese-Americans.
