The 49ers on Monday informed center Daniel Kilgore he will be placed on reserve/physically unable to perform, making him ineligible to play in the first six weeks of the regular season, a source said.
The move of placing Kilgore on reserve/PUP was one of 14 roster moves the 49ers have to make in order to reduce to their roster to the maximum of 75 players before the 1 p.m. deadline on Tuesday.
Kilgore opened last season as the starter, replacing Jonathan Goodwin, who started every game during the 49ers’ three consecutive playoff seasons. Kilgore played well before going down in Week 7 with a fractured left lower leg.
