The San Francisco 49ers defensive front showed up in a big way in Week 2, holding the Seattle Seahawks to 3.5 yards per carry on the ground, and spending much of the day harassing Russell Wilson. The defense got a ton of work, between poor offensive play, and some difficulty getting off the field on third down. The rotation led to plenty of work for rookie Solomon Thomas, and he stepped up.
Thomas finished the game with four tackles, including two for a loss, and one quarterback hit. That has gotten him nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award for Week 2.
