SANTA CLARA — Improving the pass rush should be the 49ers’ offseason priority, and now they apparently have a new defensive line coach to oversee a unit that remains on the lookout for a couple sack artists.
Kris Kocerek has been hired as Jeff Zgonina’s replacement, according to SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Adam Caplan.
Kocerek, 40, coached the Miami Dolphins defensive line the past two seasons. He previously held that role from 2009-17 with the Detroit Lions, where he not only worked with Martin Mayhew (current 49ers executive) but also upcoming free agents Ziggy Ansah and Ndamukong Suh.
