SANTA CLARA -- Blaine Gabbert fondly recalls "that feeling" the 49ers rookies will experience in their NFL preseason debuts Sunday against the Houston Texans.
"(You've) got the butterflies, and just want to go out there and play ball," Gabbert said.Gabbert vividly remembers his NFL entrance from 2011, when he started for the Jacksonville Jaguars at New England, only days after signing his contract as a first-round draft pick and shortly after the labor lockout.Injuries to David Garrard and Luke McCown thrust Gabbert into action. "(Coach) was like, 'Hey, you're starting.' And I was like, 'I don't know the offense,' " Gabbert recalled with a laugh.
