We’ve been acting as if Brandon Aiyuk signing his extension that the San Francisco 49ers offered him is a foregone conclusion. Aiyuk shows up at some point during training camp, and it’s another offseason full of meaningless speculation that ends up as water under the bridge.
Let’s look at the other side of the coin. What if Aiyuk and his agent have a number in mind that’s higher than the 49ers are willing to go? Neither side is willing to budge. We’re in late August or early September, and there hasn’t been any movement for months.
