The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the bigger players in free agency this season. Only in the opposite way than fans expected, instead releasing quite a few players while letting key free agents walk in an event-filled week.
San Francisco released fullback Kyle Juszczyk, defensive end Leonard Floyd, and defensive tackles Maliek Collins and Javon Hargrave this week, while letting every top free agent head elsewhere this offseason, staying back without making many major moves.
The strategy has a lot of national pundits questioning the team’s approach, including former cornerback Richard Sherman.
