SANTA CLARA — George Seifert, who coached the 49ers their fifth and last Lombardi Trophy, is among Jimmy Garoppolo’s distant admirers.
“He looks like the fella that plays the role of Superman in some of the movies,” Seifert said Monday on 95.7 The Game. “Hopefully he’ll turn out to be the Superman of the future.”
It’s been four weeks since Garoppolo dashed into a phone booth — or at least fielded Bill Belichick’s call — and learned he’d been traded from the New England Patriots, arguably the 49ers biggest deal for a quarterback since Steve Young arrived in 1987.
