It is safe to say the relationship between the San Francisco 49ers and the Santa Clara City Council is not improving. The City Council voted on Tuesday to declare the 49ers in breach of their contract, and are sending them a letter on Wednesday giving them 30 days to cure the breach.
The two sides have been arguing over whether or not public funds have been improperly used for various Levi’s Stadium expenses. An audit was ordered and is currently underway. Since the audit started, the City Council has said the 49ers are not handing over the financial documents needed to determine if there are any improprieties.
