When the San Francisco 49ers inked center Weston Richburg to a five-year, $47.5 million deal when free agency kicked off in 2018, he immediately became one of the top-paid players at his position.
But the Niners didn’t exactly get the best level of production in year one of that contract.
According to Pro Football Focus, Richburg’s 51.9 overall grade put him 33rd among 38 qualifiers. He also surrendered four sacks (tied for second most) and 23 quarterback hurries (tied for third most) on the year.
It certainly wasn’t the most rewarding of efforts.
