Davis, whom the Niners selected in Round 1, No. 11 overall, in the 2010 NFL Draft, made the announcement on his Twitter account on Monday.
On the surface, this appears to be a very good thing for San Francisco — a team still reeling from all the losses sustained prior to the 2015 season and looking to improve on what was a disastrous 5-11 campaign that year under former head coach Jim Tomsula.
