Since Super Bowl XVI in 1982, the 49ers have accumulated a total of five Super Bowl championships.
The arrival of legendary Hall of Famers Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Steve Young evidently propelled San Francisco to a dynastic status. Especially with the brilliance of head coaches Bill Walsh and George Seifert, the 49ers’ run in the 1980s and ’90s was nothing short of special.
San Francisco has appeared in six total Super Bowl games, losing their last one against the Baltimore Ravens in 2013. The 49ers, however, won Super Bowl XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV and XXIX.
During those big games, superstars such as Montana, Rice and Young never shied away from performing in the best of their abilities.
