The wide receiver position is my favorite position.
I don’t know why, but there is just something special about catching the football from the quarterback and trying to get as many yards as possible to get to the end zone. That’s why I played the position in high school, and it is also why I hated the fact that the San Francisco 49ers‘ receiver group was terrible in the Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly head-coaching eras.
But most importantly, it is part of the reason why I am in awe of this new organization managed under Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch — their ability to upgrade the receiver position so much since 2016, that the position is actually one of the deeper ones on the team now is nothing short of astounding.
