Week 9 officially marks the end of the first half of the 2018 NFL season. And for the 2-7 San Francisco 49ers, the year hasn’t exactly gone as many planned.
The Niners have suffered their share of setbacks this season, and nearly all the expectations went asunder as soon as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was lost to the year with an ACL injury back in Week 3.
But Garoppolo’s injury had little to do with a number of the other issues plaguing head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad. Garoppolo didn’t cause San Francisco’s defense to miss a swarm of tackles over the year.
