While the 2015 season may have been a disappointment for the San Francisco 49ers, the team can take some pride knowing that its top wide receiver, Anquan Boldin, has been named the 2015 Walter Payton Man of the Year recipient.
Boldin was named a finalist at the conclusion of the regular season and received the award the day before Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara.
“I’m beyond humbled to be selected as the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year,” said Boldin, via the team’s website. “I used to dream that I could play like Walter Payton when I was growing up, but he became even more of an inspiration to me as I learned about his legacy as a humanitarian.
