The San Francisco 49ers have opened up offseason programs and will look to work in their new cast of rookie draft picks and undrafted free agents onto a 90-man roster in preparation for the 2016 NFL season.
It’s a roster with talent here and, to be frank, not so much there. The Niners, coming off a 5-11 campaign a year ago, are in the middle of a rebuild phase.
As is so often the case with teams looking to turn their fortunes around, almost every single position is up for grabs.
Competition is a good thing.
