The San Francisco 49ers have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL entering the upcoming 2020 season. Without it, they wouldn’t have been 10 minutes away from a Super Bowl win versus the Kansas City Chiefs last February.
ESPN (h/t Niners Nation) recently broke down the weakest positions at every team, and for the Niners, they highlighted depth at safety as the biggest concern.
Although ESPN isn’t the final determination for the strength of a roster, the Niners boast average to above-average players at nearly every position on their team. But, they didn’t make the Super Bowl from consistent average play.
