San Francisco 49ers: 3 reasons Robert Saleh won’t be fired after 2018

The NFL is a results-based business, and there’s an easy argument to be made San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh hasn’t generated the kind of results to warrant him sticking around beyond 2018.

Granted, the 4-11 Niners have had a slew of problems over the course of the year, many of which were directly influenced by injury. But many of those injuries took place on the offensive side of the ball, where head coach Kyle Shanahan’s play calling has still mustered the league’s 16th best yardage offense — commendable, considering he lost starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and running back Jerick McKinnon early in the season.
