Sakamoto: 49ers’ Re-Sign DE Tony Jerod-Eddie To One-Year Deal

The San Francisco 49ers continue to re-sign their prized free-agents, as they agreed to terms with DE Tony Jerod-Eddie on a one-year deal. TJE, who originally broke into the NFL as an undrafted rookie free-agent from Texas A&M back in 2012, continues to play a key role along the team’s defensive line.

In 47 regular-season games, TJE has recorded 62 tackles, one interception, and six pass breakups including 4 PBUs in 2015 which ranked No. 1 on the team for all defensive lineman. So what does this mean for the upcoming 2016 NFL draft? While the team inked DE Quinton Dial to a long-term extension while DE Arik Armstead will likely get starter reps in 2016, I can’t help but think the team will go in another direction with the No.
