The San Francisco 49ers officially announced that ILB Michael Wilhoite has been placed on season-ending IR this afternoon. No surprise to me as I reported that Wilhoite would go on IR back on December 8 — it turned out that was the case, as the four-year veteran’s 2015 season will be cut short due to a high-ankle sprain.
In 12 games this season, Wilhoite has recorded 85 tackles and one interception. With Wilhoite lost for the season, the team activated rookie fourth-round pick RB Mike Davis to the team’s 53-man active roster.
