A source close to the situation has told me that San Francisco 49ers ILB Michael Wilhoite will be placed on IR (injured reserve) after suffering a ‘stress fracture’ in his ankle during the Chicago Bears win last week.
49ers head coach Jim Tomsula alluded to Wilhoite undergoing an MRI in his Monday presser as he said, “Wilhoite is getting an MRI on his ankle today,” Tomsula told beat writers. Now it appears that Wilhoite’s 2015 season will end on a sour note. as he re-injured the same ankle that has been nagging him all season long.
