The San Francisco 49ers are in the midst of a season filled with historic lows. As such, major changes will be in store this offseason. The first, many expect, will be the firing of general manager Trent Baalke.
Baalke was once praised for the 49ers roster — though, in hindsight, the roster of 2011-2013 was largely built by his predecessor, Scot McCloughan, now of the Washington Redskins. On the heels of a 12 game losing streak — and counting — it is difficult for anyone to argue that Baalke has succeeded in his current role.
