INDIANAPOLIS — Only two weeks to go for the 49ers’ possible introduction of safety Earl Thomas as their marquee addition of free agency.
Cornerback Richard Sherman is all for reuniting with his former Seattle Seahawks teammate.
But Sherman knows it’s not what he says that will win over Thomas. Money talks in free agency, after all. And so might the Dallas Cowboys’ appeal to Thomas’ Texas roots.
“There’s serious interest. There’s obviously a clear and easy fit,” Sherman said Wednesday at the NFL scouting combine. “But financially it has to make sense.
Thomas, who turns 30 on May 7, has played his entire career in Seattle and became the prototypical free safety in a scheme the 49ers mirror.
