Revisiting the carnage Chip Kelly inflicted on both the 49ers and Eagles

The two teams playing on Sunday Night Football this week — the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles — have a lot in common.

They both play in the NFC. They're both ravaged by injuries at the moment. They both have inconsistent starting quarterbacks whose abilities are debated ad nauseam on local sports radio.

Oh, and their head coaches, Kyle Shanahan and Doug Pederson, are the immediate successors of one Chip Edward Kelly, who left the Niners and Eagles in disastrous situations.

Kelly actually reached the postseason with the Eagles during his first year as head coach in 2013, and recorded a 10-win 2014 season in which his squad narrowly missed the playoffs.
