Veteran safety Jairus Byrd is among a group of defensive backs the 49ers will reportedly work out on Tuesday in Santa Clara.
Byrd, 30, played the past three seasons with the New Orleans Saints after beginning his career with the Buffalo, where he spent five seasons. Byrd has appeared in 106 games with 98 starts.
Byrd has recorded interceptions in his career, including nine as a rookie in 2009. He has been selected to three Pro Bowls. Byrd’s scheduled workout with the 49ers was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Eric Reid and Jimmie Ward have worked with the 49ers’ first team at the safety positions during the offseason program.
