Report: Retired Anthony Davis owes 49ers more money

Anthony Davis’ second retirement from the NFL in 15 months will reportedly require him to repay $2.735 million to the 49ers.

Davis repaid the 49ers a sum of $1.667 million when he stepped away from the game in June 2015. And Pro Football Talk reports that he must pay the balance of the signing bonus money he previously received in anticipation of future services.

A source told CSNBayArea.com that a player must repay past signing bonus money each year he remains retired. Davis was awarded a $7.5 million signing bonus when he signed a $37.
