Report: Kyle Nelson suspended 10 games

The San Francisco 49ers are in the news for an entirely unexpected reason. Long snapper Kyle Nelson has been suspended ten games, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. There is no word yet on the reason for the suspension, but ten games suggests something serious. The NFL transaction report came out this afternoon, and he was placed on the team’s Reserve/Suspended By Commissioner-Less than One Year list.

The 49ers reportedly worked out a handful of long snappers last week (h/t Matt Maiocco), which suggests the 49ers knew this was coming.

49ers tryouts reported: LBs Tyrell Adams (signed to PS), Thurston Armbrister, Michael Wilhoite; LSs Tanner Carew, Jon Condo, Lucas Gravelle, Colin Holba, Taybor Pepper; WRs Max McCaffrey (signed to PS), Jordan Smallwood, Jordan Veasy.
