Report: Former 49ers LB Michael Wilhoite signs with Seahawks

Linebackers Michael Wilhoite and Brock Coyle have now switched places.

Wilhoite will join the Seahawks, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, after five seasons with the 49ers. He’ll be helping Seattle replenish its linebacker corps since Coyle, a former Seahawk, inked with San Francisco two weeks ago.

Wilhoite started 36 games for the 49ers, including all 16 of the 2014 season — when he had two interceptions, six place deflections and a forced fumble while subbing in for an injured NaVarro Bowman.

Wilhoite, who went undrafted in 2011 and was called up from the practice squad in 2012, made several key plays on special teams during the team’s run to Super Bowl XLVII.
