Seventy-six days after the start of free agency, former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick will visit with the Seahawks today, the NFL Network reported.
Kaepernick, 29, is clearly the best quarterback remaining on the market and Seattle doesn’t have an established backup behind Russell Wilson. In addition, several prominent Seahawks, including cornerback Richard Sherman and wide receiver Doug Baldwin, were vocal in their support after Kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem last season.
Kaepernick flew to Seattle from the East Coast on Tuesday. The Seahawks are hosting at least one other quarterback today.
Kaepernick’s anthem stance and his outspokenness about his views on racial inequality in America are possible reasons for his unemployment.
