The San Francisco 49ers were “short-staffed” during OTAs. Those were voluntary, and the coaching staff did not seem concerned that several players, including multiple stars, were not present for those workouts.
This week is different. The word “mandatory” appears in front of minicamp. The Niners are set to take the field on Tuesday and Wednesday before taking a hiatus until training camp begins at the end of July. Once practice does begin at 10:40 a.m. PT, No. 23 will be in action.
Eric Branch of The San Francisco Chronicle and Matt Maiocco from NBC Sports Bay Area tweeted that Christian McCaffrey has reported to mandatory minicamp for these next couple of days and will be in attendance.
