The San Francisco 49ers have signed veteran safety Adrian Amos, according to his agents at Equity Sports to the practice squad. The corresponding move was to release wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. from the practice squad.
With several safeties dealing with injuries, the Niners added one of the more experienced defensive backs left on the free agent market. Amos is in his 10th NFL season and has previously played with the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, and Houston Texans.
While he has never reached a Pro Bowl, Amos was a consistent starter for the first eight seasons of his career.
