Per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports, the San Francisco 49ers are releasing former 2016 first-round pick Josh Garnett. Garnett has battled injuries all throughout his career, and was only able to play the fourth preseason game. His PFF grade for the game was 54.6, where he allowed one pressure.
All 11 of Garnett’s career starts came as a rookie. With the 49ers plan to release him, it’ll be interesting to see with that information leaking, if a team steps up and makes a trade offer for Garnett before he hits the waiver wire.
