Decidedly in the market for cornerbacks, the 49ers will visit today with free agent Vontae Davis, ESPN reported.
Davis, 29, is the younger brother of longtime 49ers tight end Vernon Davis. The younger Davis was a first-round draft choice by the Miami Dolphins in 2009. He spent three seasons there and the next six with the Indianapolis Colts, who released Davis in November. Davis also has visited the Browns and Bills
The 49ers, meanwhile, have two starter-caliber cornerbacks signed for next season, Ahkello Witherspoon and K'Waun Williams. Young, unproven Greg Mabin and Tyvis Powell also are under contract.
