Report: 49ers, Broncos deal awaiting change to Kaepernick's contract

A mid-round draft pick awaits the 49ers if Colin Kaepernick agrees to a revised contract in a proposed trade with the Denver Broncos, ESPN reported.

The 49ers already own a league-high 12 picks in the upcoming draft April 28-30. The Broncos have 10 picks, including a third-round choice (No. 94 overall) that might satisfy the 49ers’ request, or perhaps one for 2017 would.

The 49ers have remained steadfast that they won’t release Kaepernick, who got benched at midseason Nov. 2 to end his three-year reign as their starting quarterback.

Kaepernick has met twice in recent weeks with Broncos general manager John Elway, according to multiple reports, including one from the Denver Post.
