The 49ers think highly of DeMeco Ryans.
That was clear in April when defensive coordinator Robert Saleh was asked about the rookie assistant coach.
“DeMeco is probably going to be a head coach one day,” Saleh said. “So, I’ll be asking him for a job I’m sure not long from now. He’s got that type of football I.Q. -- that type of presence -- and is as knowledgeable as it gets.”
The latest evidence that the 49ers value Ryans: On Monday, The Tennessean reported the 49ers blocked the Titans’ request to interview Ryans for a position on new head coach Mike Vrabel’s staff.
