There’s been quite a bit of chatter on the fate of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garçon, and we have another indication that he won’t be in the red and gold for 2019. Mike Garafolo was on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football and reported the 49ers will not pick up Garçon’s 2019 option.
The move comes with $7.2 million in dead money per Over The Cap. The move will also clear an estimated $500,000 in salary cap space when factoring in the 51-highest salaries.
Garçon was one of the many free agent signings for the 49ers when Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch were brought onboard in 2017.
