Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to sign former Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions tight end Levine Toilolo, pending his physical. He had 21 catches for 263 yards in Detroit last year. Toilolo played with the Falcons when Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator for two seasons as well.
Toilolo, who is 6-foot-8, would be the fourth pass catcher that the team has added that is taller than 6-foot-3. The 49ers offense is transforming from small and quick to having a bunch of receivers that can play above the rim.
