Ready to run: Hunter, Bush poised to make preseason debuts

DENVER – It appears running back Kendall Hunter will play in his first game in more than a year tonight when the 49ers visit the Broncos in their third preseason game.

Hunter, who tore his ACL 13 months ago, has been participating in training-camp practices but his snaps have been listed this summer.

In addition, running back Reggie Bush, 30, could make his preseason debut. Bush hasn’t been injured this summer, but his snap counts have been limited in practice, a nod to his age and 1,266 career carries.

The 49ers announced four players won’t play tonight: cornerback Tramaine Brock (pulled leg muscle), linebacker Philip Wheeler (muscle strain), linebacker Desmond Bishop (hand) and tight end Vance McDonald (ankle).
