Rams trade Greg Robinson, former No. 2 overall pick, to Lions

The Los Angeles Rams have decided to move on from offensive tackle Greg Robinson after only two seasons. The team traded Robinson to the Detroit Lions for a 2018 sixth round pick.

The Rams spent the second overall pick on Robinson in the 2014 NFL Draft. He played left tackle and struggled mightily his first two seasons. This offseason, the Rams signed Andre Whitworth to take over at left tackle. Robinson was moved into a competition with Rob Havenstein at right guard and right tackle, but by OTAs, Jamon Brown had supplanted Robinson on the depth chart.
