Aaron Donald received his wish.
After sitting out the entire preseason, the Rams and star defensive tackle Aaron Donald agreed to a six-year contract extension, reportedly worth $135 million. The mega-deal is largest contract for a defensive player in NFL history.
Donald was named the 2017 AP Defensive Player of the Year. He recorded 11 sacks and five forced fumbles in 14 games played last season.
The 27-year-old is also a three-time First Team All-Pro, four-time Pro Bowler and won the 2014 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
The Rams open the 2018 regular season against the Raiders, who are still without Khalil Mack as he continues his contract holdout.
